The US imported more than it exported to 15 of its top 20 trade partners in 2023

The US tends to import more than it exports, and 2023 was no exception. The US imported $1 trillion more than it exported — the 6th year in a row with a trillion-dollar trade deficit (adjusted for inflation). 

The highest trade deficits:
