📈 EU Import Shifts Post-Ukraine War: U.S. Gains as China and Russia Lose Ground
From 2021 to the third quarter 2024, EU imports from the U.S. rose significantly by 46.3%, while imports from China saw a modest increase of 6.2%. In contrast, imports from Russia plummeted by 76.8%. Historically, from 2000 to 2013, EU imports from the U.S. grew modestly by 5%, while imports from China and Russia surged by 294% and 225%, respectively. Between 2013 and August 2024, imports from the U.S. and China rose by 106% and 110%, respectively, while imports from Russia declined sharply by 81%.
