Taiwan Remains Global Semiconductor Manufacturing Leader
Taiwan dominates the global semiconductor foundry market, with TSMC alone commanding a staggering 62% share of total foundry revenue.
Including contributions from other Taiwan-based companies like UMC, VIS, and PSMC, the country’s combined share exceeds 70%.
South Korea follows, with Samsung accounting for 10% of the market. Meanwhile, China and the United States each make notable contributions, led by SMIC (5%) and GlobalFoundries (6%), respectively, while smaller players collectively account for just 3% of the market.
China, the United States, and South Korea are ramping up efforts to expand their semiconductor industries through increased investments and government support to reduce reliance on Taiwan.
