Wikipedia just revealed what we’ve all been obsessing over in 2024
While we might be visiting Wikipedia a little less (apparently) in the age of ChatGPT and Gemini, there’s no denying that it’s still the go-to website for quick info on anything and everything.
Apparently in 2024, that was mostly American politics... and morbid curiosity.
According to a blog post yesterday from the Wikimedia Foundation — the nonprofit behind, in its own words, “the largest knowledge resource ever assembled in the history of the world” — the most popular article on English Wiki was Deaths in 2024, a timeline of notable figures we’ve lost this year, which attracted more than 44 million pageviews.
