Which Country Sends The Most Remittances?
The United States is the country from which the highest amount of money is sent from workers living abroad to families or communities in their countries of origin, according to World Bank data published in the International Organization for Migration’s (IOM) 2024 World Migration Report. As the following chart shows, more than $80 billion in remittances were sent abroad from the U.S. in 2022. Saudi Arabia’s large migrant workforce meanwhile saw it send nearly $40 billion in remittances, placing it second in the world ranking.
