The German Nobel Laureates

Since the first Nobel Prize was awarded in 1901, 103 individuals with German roots have received this prestigious honor. Among the most notable names are Albert Einstein, Günter Grass, and Willy Brandt. The awards span categories such as Literature, Peace, Chemistry, Physics, Medicine, and one in Economic Sciences.
However, women remain significantly underrepresented among the laureates. To date, only two German women have been recognized.
