Not-So-United Nations: UN States that Don't Recognize Other UN States Including Palestine
There are currently 193 member states in the United Nations (UN). However, not all states are recognized by other states. This graph shows countries (member states) that are not recognized by at least one other member state. “Not recognizing” can include ceasing all diplomatic and foreign relations with another nation.
The chart is limited to member states of the UN, including UN observer state Palestine. It also includes Taiwan, although Taiwan is not recognized by the UN as a sovereign nation. Taiwan is listed because it is generally recognized by many countries that have close economic and cultural relations.
I had originally created a chart showing the non-recognition of UN member states without Palestine, but due to several requests, I redid the chart to include oberver-state Palestine as it's recognition has been steadily increasing over the years.
