Germany's Key Trading Partners and the Impending Shift in Imports and Exports

With a trade volume of €253 billion and a surplus of €70 billion, the United States is a cornerstone for German exports. However, Donald Trump's proposed tariffs on cars and other goods could jeopardize this success, potentially causing a significant decline in exports to the U.S. over the long term.
On the other hand, Europe is emerging stronger. German exports to EU countries could grow eightfold by 2035 through closer collaboration and reforms in the single market. Yet, for this "sleeping giant" to awaken, as Oliver Bendig called the EU single market at Deloitte, bureaucratic barriers must be dismantled, and standards unified.
