Not everyone pays the same for gas — we know this.

But between the most (Iran) and least affordable (Hong Kong) parts of the world, there’s a $12 difference.

Why?

The price at the pump is determined by multiple factors:

• Cost of crude, varying by type
• Refining costs
• Distribution costs
• Taxes or subsidies

Generally speaking, oil suppliers and refiners tend to have lower prices.
