Fertility rates decreased nationwide from 2005 to 2022

The fertility rate — live births per 1,000 women ages 15–44 — fell in every state from 2005 to 2022.
Utah (-33.9%), Arizona (-31.9%), and Delaware (-31.2%) had the biggest drops.
Louisiana (-0.3%), North Dakota (-4.3%), and Kentucky (-6.0%) had the most stable rates.
