Where Data Tells the Story

This chart tracks every continent’s population every year (estimates used for 2025 onwards) according to data from the UN’s World’s Population Prospects, published 2024.
❗Figures in the data tab are in thousands.
The world will most likely hit peak population in 2084, after which global population will begin to decline.
However, other regions are likely to hit their peaks sooner.
Meanwhile, Africa, Northern America, and Oceania will keep growing slowly past 2100.
While Africa’s birth rates will continue to sustain population growth, the latter two regions will benefit from international migration.
